Rehearsal for the devSec Presentation: The Reactor in the Conference Room
Two weeks before heise devSec() in Marburg, they held a dress rehearsal in front of their own audience: On Friday, Timo and Patrick presented their talk, “The Warning Light Is On: A Live Attack on an AI-Controlled Control Center,” to their colleagues—including the demo that will illustrate the topic at the conference.
At the heart of the system is a test station that simulates a reactor control room: a Raspberry Pi, an AI chatbot as the user interface, and a warning light that comes on when the plant enters a critical state. That’s exactly where the two of them steer the discussion during the presentation—not toward a vulnerability in the code, but toward the agent’s authorization logic.
The presentation will take place on stage on Tuesday, September 22, at 11:30 a.m. in Track 3.
